Great show. Railroad tracks would still be great for transportation . horse drawn wagons could move huge amounts of weight on railroad tracks if it had wheels that were spaced and designed for railroad tracks .
Great conversation. I agree with the other commenter about Jim and Matt, they have a great repaired as co-guests.
It's funny to think about whether that hotel in Vegas shaped like a pyramid would be one of the artifacts remaining 3000 years down the road in the Egypt analogy.
Nice to hear the nod to John Michael Greer from Jim. JMG doesnt get nearly enough signal boosting in the collapsosphere, probably because his model of a punctuated equilibrium collapse doesnt fit into the binary model of techno-utopia vs apocalypse that people have settled into.
I have a feeling that the feminism mentioned by Matt in Japanese culture is going to be one of the first tides to go back out to sea as things fall apart. The whole structure of feminism is completely reliant on a strong sense of law and order to keep the more rapey parts of the male population at bay, otherwise as Matt said, fist vs. bowl of spaghetti.
